Take ADA Grassroots Survey

Jan 28, 2026
Help ADA Strengthen Dentistry’s Voice on Capitol Hill

The ADA is updating its grassroots advocacy program (formerly Action Team Leaders) to better understand and strengthen relationships between organized dentistry and federal policymakers.

The ADA is seeking members willing to serve in one of three roles — Key Contact, Contact Dentist or Action Team Member — based on existing relationships with elected officials and interest in advocacy involvement.

These roles help amplify dentistry’s voice with Congress and the Administration through direct engagement, issue education, and advocacy outreach.

To identify interested members, the ADA has a brief Political Relationship Survey where dentists can self-identify their connections and willingness to participate. Members interested in advocacy are encouraged to complete the survey and learn more about how they can support dentistry at the federal level.

Role Descriptions

  • Key Contact: Serve as a trained messenger of ADA’s federal policy agenda, amplifying the association’s advocacy reach and providing real time intelligence from Capitol Hill, Congressional Districts, and the Administration. Requires a pre-existing relationship with the policymaker and the willingness to build that relationship on behalf of the ADA. Intermittent meeting attendance is required, which includes a formal training session.
  • Contact Dentist: Serve as ADA key contact in order to connect policymakers with the ADA and to help to promote the ADA’s position on a particular issue.
  • Action Team Member: Serve as someone willing to meet with Members of Congress and their staff in Washington, DC and in their District Offices to provide background on issues of importance to dentistry through personal stories as well as attend the ADA’s annual Lobby Day in Washington, DC. This individual may also be asked to attend fundraisers on behalf of ADPAC. Intermittent meeting attendance is required, which includes a formal training session.
