What’s A Dental Loss Ratio

• A DLR requires dental insurers to spend at least 85% of premium dollars on patient care or issue refunds – a standard that already applies to medical insurance in Missouri. 
• A DLR puts patients first by ensuring the premium dollars they pay go toward their dental care – not corporate overhead. 

Why This Campaign Matters

To advance this legislation, lawmakers must see that both dentists and patients support reform. With legislative sponsors committed to pre-filing the bill before Missouri’s 2026 session begins on January 7, engagement now – and throughout the session – is essential.
