Missouri statute requires the MDA submit a list of five dentists annually to be considered by the governor as possible candidates for vacant dentist position(s) on the Missouri Dental Board.
In an effort to submit the most qualified candidates to the Governor for consideration, the MDA Board of Trustees has established a standing committee to review potential candidates, submit a report for the entire Board’s review and discussion, and submit names prior to the July 1 deadline.
For interested candidates, the MDA has a required questionnaire to complete and return to the MDA along with a current curriculum vitae and letters of recommendation no later than March 2, 2020. Late applicants will not be considered by the committee.
To request a questionnaire or for additional questions, contact Margie Kunze at the MDA.
The final appointment is made by the Governor (who is not obliged to appoint an MDA candidate), approved by the individual’s Senator and confirmed by the entire Senate. A strong connection with one’s Senator is a plus for potential candidates.
